Funding Sources

Skills for Care : The Training Strategy Implementation (TSI) funding is provided by the Department of Health for disbursement to social care employers to support the achievement of the national minimum standards in care.  The TSI Funding is channelled through employer-led partnerships.  It supports: Common Induction Standards (CIS) / Learning Disability Qualification (LDQ) - one unit maximum per completed induction and Assessor Awards (2 Units)  and NVQ’s not supported by Train to Gain, additionally during 2009 / 10 Skills for Care will be supporting accredited training in First Aid, Manual Handling and Food Hygiene.

Applications for the year have now been accepted and awarded.  There will be an opportunity in January if we are able to reclaim some units to re-look at requests since the closure date.

The numbers of units available to your organisation are limited by the funding available to the Partnership, we are only provided with a small amount of units for the region.

Claiming your Units: You will need to get your training provider to provide the evidence and send it to us at the partnership (up to the total of your allocated amount - minus any induction claims you may wish to use this for - do let them and us know what your plans are)

Further information  about The Training Strategy Implementation Fund is available from the Skills for Care Regional offices. Application criteria are posted at www.skillsforcare.org.uk

Larger organisations may have an existing arrangement with Skills for Care, if this is the case, you will not need to come to the partnership.

Wiltshire and Swindon Care Skills Partnership Grant - known as The Partnership Contribution Grant we are waiting to hear if there will be any funds to support Swindon in this coming year.  Wiltshire have provided support once again for 2010 -11. Wiltshire Council would like the funding to be directed towards Dementia Training, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Outcomes Focussed Care Planning and Supporting Direct Payment Recipients. We have been hit by the recession and our funding is due to be lowered this financial year. We appreciate the hardships we all face and have agreed that as the applications will rise, this year we are making a contribution to your training. Applications for the Grant will become available after May 2010
