This year, Skills for Care have introduced more units into the the induction process.
- ACCREDITED FIRST AID
- ACCREDITED FOOD HYGIENE
- ACCREDITED MANUAL HANDLING
- ACCREDITED MANUAL HANDLING OF PEOPLE
- ACCREDITED ENGLISH SPEAKERS OF ANOTHER LANGUAGE (ESoL)
Each unit can only be claimed once per person like each of the other units. Each unit cannot be claimed for again
Currently each additional unit must have a qualified outcome. This means in-house training does not count. Training must be done by an ACCREDITED trainer.
Accredited means that there is an AWARDING BODY behind the training. For First Aid, as an example, but not definitive, this could be St John’s Ambulance, CIPD etc
For Food Hygiene, CIEH could be the awarding body and so on.
Please don’t claim if your trainer has done their train the trainer - this funding from Skills for Care does not support this type of training. Although important and valuable - Skills for Care provide this funding towards qualifications not in-house updates.
Please contact us if you wish to make a claim so we can make sure we all get this right if you are not sure what to do. We are all learning and are happy to clarify any issues with Skills for Care.
You can download the form from our claim forms page
........ please note you are required to provide a COPY of the relevant awarding certificate per person. Awarding Certificate is not an attendance certificate.
