Expectations and terms of the Grant:
- You must complete all parts of the application, if you do not complete this will delay your application.
- This Grant is a contribution towards your social care training / resources to support your social care employees with their learning and development in your organisation working within Wiltshire and Swindon. You will be expected to contribute towards the cost of the training.
- You must tell us exactly what the funding will go towards – we need to know how this funding will improve your services.
- We expect you to claim your grant funding as soon as possible, however, all funding must be claimed by end of April 2011, later claims will not be accepted.
- Priority funding will go towards Dementia (provided you are not registered as a provider of Dementia Care), Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Outcomes Focussed Care Planning.
- You must use the funding for exactly what you have requested. Should you need to change this, you must let the Development Manager know and once agreed, confirm the change in writing.
- You are responsible for keeping your records and paying for any VAT if you are VAT registered.
- You must keep a record of how this grant has been utilised. It may be subject to an audit by us or the Department of Health audit, as it is public monies.
- You agree that the Partnership can keep an electronic record of your details for the purposes of the grant.
- You must not charge your staff for any training this grant funds or make. any profit from this grant

Please note:
- You are responsible for returning your applications (and claims) prior to all deadlines.
- We are continuing to support providers who may require support following a CQC inspection resulting in a zero (poor) or one (adequate) star rating (this will be changed with the new Risk assessed outcomes) - Please contact Wallace to discuss your situation in confidence and to arrange a personal consultation appointment.
- We are working with Centre for Independent Living to support Recipients of Direct Payments during 2010/11 if you receive Direct payments, please call us to see if we can support the learning and development of your PA.
What can it be spent on?
- Priority funding is addressing Safeguarding, Dementia and Outcome focussed Care planning. Applications for these areas will be given priority of the funding
- Short Courses that support your mandatory training that helps achieve: National Minimum Standards, Continuing Professional Development that are NOT STATUTORY etc.....
- Resources: equipment, that helps the learning and development for the social care workforce.
What it cannot be spent on?
- It cannot be used for any nursing related courses - Venepuncture, statutory training, clinical governance, nursing courses etc.
- It does not pay for the lunch or refreshments part of a course, there is an expectation that you will do this.
- It is not designed to pay for the travel, accommodation or subsistence, again, there is an expectation that you will do this.
- Transport is not funded
- Stationery or flipcharts etc are not funded.
- We cannot fund venues this year
- courses not stated on the application without prior agreement.
- NVQs
- Free / other fully funded training
- degree or equivalent courses
- Assessor / Verifier Awards
- Induction’s
- Statutory training
- VAT
There is support by Skills for Care (TSI funds), Business Link and some Training Providers who have access to specific funding for NVQ - we do not pay for these through the Partnership Grant, please ask us about the TSI funding instead.
Who can provide the training?
- This is really down to you - but the partnership would encourage you to have at least Two references if you are using a new or no accredited training company.
- You can use any trainer - we need real evidence of the activity having taken place - you may be subject to an audit.
- You cannot ask for grant money for any in-house training you provide for your staff
Claiming your grant.
- You will need to return your application no later than 2 working days after the closing date. (6th August 2010)
- Your grant is paid retrospectively - you can only claim once you can provide evidence of having spent the funds for the appropriate elements of your award.
- You will need to include a claim form available sent to you with your confirmation of award letter.
- As you are aware this is public money and has to be accounted for, so this year (2010/11) we will not ask for evidence to be sent directly to us - we require that you declare you have spent the money and accept an audit by a partnership representative.
- Any courses you apply for need to be costed for exact figures (excluding VAT) along with dates of the courses or purpose of the equipment
- You will need to request at least the minimum of 50% of your awarded claim at any one time, or you can still claim the whole amount - but it still must be retrospectively done.
- You will need to demonstrate how you are contributing to the grant.
